Change Manager (Full Time 35 hours per week)

Purpose of Role

  • To lead the development and delivery of the digital transformation of The Society in support of the strategic objectives of the business
  • To future proof The Society via the implementation of technology and change initiatives
  • To maintain the relevance and capabilities of the core system via periodic updates that are to be managed using a robust change process
  • To lead by example, ensuring that processes and procedures meet the day-to-day requirements and strategic objectives of The Society
  • To plan and manage the project budget, securing value for money without compromising quality of service
  • To develop and maintain a robust Change Policy and associated procedures as directed by the Risk Department
  • To deliver good outcomes for all our members

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the lifecycle of all Society changes, with a strong focus on technology transformation and substantial software upgrades
  • Developing change management plans and communication strategies for projects and change initiatives, prioritising changes according to business objectives, and managing change schedules
  • Defining success metrics and ensuring that change outputs meet the agreed requirements of time, quality, and cost
  • Defining a robust governance framework
  • Co-ordinating building, testing and implementation of changes via detailed project plans
  • Overseeing change releases using detailed runbooks and evaluating the impact of such changes using appropriate project-based tools
  • Co-ordinating cross functional, cross Society teams to ensure project/change delivery
  • Identifying risks and issues, maintaining a RAID log and developing mitigation tactics
  • Providing timely management reporting for use by the Leadership Team, Board of Directors and other relevant stakeholders
  • Developing strong and collaborative relationships with third parties critical to the successful delivery of the Society change schedules
  • Maintaining all change documentation and evidence of project governance
  • Monitoring and managing the annual budget in your area of responsibility, ensuring that it is fairly and appropriately allocated
  • Operating compliantly in line with Financial Regulation and the Society requirements
  • Ensure that staff and members’ data is secure, accurate and used correctly in line the Society GDPR policy and standards. Adhere to the Society Financial Crime Policy, the controls and report any internal or external incidents of actual or suspected fraud, money laundering or financial crime, either in accordance with the internal money laundering process (Suspicious Activities Report) or via the Society’s Whistleblowing Policy. Complete and pass an annual dedicated financial crime and bribery prevention computer-based training test
  • Undertake a role of Data Steward for your business function and support Data Owner in ensuring data protection policy and information security policy and standards are operating correctly in protecting members and staff data
  • Acting as a role model for the Society’s values
  • Any other duties as required by the Head of Operations which may from time to time be allocated and that are commensurate with the grading of the post

Person Specs

Essential

  • Extensive change experience including leading and delivering business critical technology transformation and software projects
  • At least 5 years’ experience implementing change
  • Financial services sector experience
  • Relevant Change/Project Management qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Solid computer and IT skills, proficient user of Microsoft applications

Desirable

  • Digital experience including a strong IT background
  • Relevant project management qualification
